In attempting to re-establish steady state, the earth's weather patterns will surely oscillate between the poles of hot and cold. And as it strives to establish new parameters, within which it will again maintain a steady state, the extremes of an ice age are just as likely as the melting of the polar ice caps. What do we humans really know about such matters?
